How to Measure Your Head Size at Home

Below is step by step instruction on measuring your head to determine hat size.

What You need: a tape measure or a ribbon (or string), ruler and pen. NOTE: Use a non-elastic material. Avoid yarn or other stretchy materials.

Using a tape measure:

Step 1: Measure the circumference of your head by wrapping the tape measure around the head at the point where the hat will sit. (generally, this is about an inch above the eyebrows)

Step 2: Write down the measurement and you're done.

Using a ribbon or string:

Step 1: Wrap the ribbon around the head at the point where the hat will sit. (generally, this is about an inch above the eyebrows)

Step 2: Mark the point with a pin or, to be safest, with a pen mark.

Step 3: Using a ruler or yardstick, measure the ribbon from the end to the pin or mark.

Step 4: write down that measurement.
